How to get here

By bus from Managua:
• Take the express bus from Managua at the Mercado Huembes (that's pronounced "whem-base") every day at 4pm. After only 2½ hours you'll arrive in San Juan Del Sur.
• Or again from Mercado Huembes take any bus heading for Rivas. The ride to Rivas is about 3 hours.
• Same thing from any other cities (Granada, Masaya.) Take the bus to Rivas.
• Once in Rivas connect to San Juan Del Sur on another bus. After about 50 minutes you will arrive in San Juan del Sur.

By Bus from Costa Rica:
• If you are coming from Costa Rica, you can catch the bus headed for Rivas at the border and tell the driver you want to get off at La Virgen. Then cross the Pan-American highway and wait for the next bus to San Juan Del Sur. They run every 45 minutes, so it won't be long.

By car from Managua Airport:
• If you are coming straight from the airport. It is much faster to cut via Tipitapa than trough Managua. Take Masaya highway out of Managua and head south on the Pan-American highway. After you pass Rivas, be on the lookout for the turnoff for San Juan.
